Deputy Commander of STRIKFORNATO confident with NATO future

Oeiras, Portugal – On 18 November 2015, the Deputy Commander of Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO (STRIKFORNATO), Rear Admiral Paddy McAlpine, Royal Navy, attended, as speaker, to a Seminar promoted by the Portuguese Institute of Foreign Relations with the theme - "Portugal, NATO and the New Arc of Crisis”.
Admiral Paddy McAlpine stressed, that the military strength and political cohesion of NATO, will continue to evolve and adapt, as it has in the past, to face the challenges of the New Arc of Crisis. Admiral McAlpine believes that, ‘’what will not change is NATO’s adherence to its core principles and beliefs in a Europe that is whole, free and at peace within a safe and strong Euro-Atlantic community’’. The Deputy Commander of STRIKFORNATO is confident regarding the NATO future: ‘’NATO has maintained our peace and security for more than sixty years and it will continue to do so, for many, many years to come."
