First Annual STRIKFORNATO Charity Football Match

18 Feb 2015

Oeiras, Portugal - Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO (STRIKFORNATO) hosted its first charity football match in perfect weather conditions and under a bright Lisbon sun.  The match saw the multinational staff of STRIKFORNATO take on a crack team gathered from across the Portuguese commands at Reduto Gomes Freire.  The action was fast and competitive, although the homeside won out in the end, displaying a great depth on the bench, with a final tally of 5 goals for Portugal to 3 for STRIKFORNATO.

The aim of the football match was to raise money for a local orphanage, which is the beneficiary from countless hours dedicated from volunteers of the STRIKFORNATO staff and the Boy Scouts.  It should be noted that the real victory belongs to all those who, in the great spirit of solidarity, contributed for this noble cause.

STRIKFORNATO: Unity is Strength!
