STRIKFORNATO visits Portuguese Land Forces Command

OEIRAS, Portugal – Today, representatives of Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO (STRIKFORNATO) had the opportunity to visit the Portuguese Land Forces Command (LFC), in Amadora, Lisbon.
LFC is a 3 star headquarters responsible for supporting the Portuguese Army Chief of Staff on the training, preparation and support of land forces. Lieutenant General António Faria Menezes, the commandant, and his staff welcomed the STRIKFORNATO team and provided an illustrative briefing on LFC’s mission, structure and challenges.
Brigadier General Karsten Heckl, STRIKFORNATO Chief of Staff, also had the opportunity to brief the hosts, providing them a picture of the role and missions of this headquarters in a very participative debate.
During the visit, STRIKFORNATO Deputy Commander, Rear Admiral Paddy McAlpine, had an office call with General Faria Menezes, who personally took the STRIKFORNATO staff to tour the compound.
