Master Chief Petty Officer Andrea Mannavola was born in Taranto, Italy, on October 29 1980.
He joined the Italian Navy in 2000 as a Reserve Officer and he took his first assignment as Division Assistant in the Administrative Inspection Central Office at the Ministry of Defense.
Between 2004 and 2005 he also served in the Personnel Department of the Navy Staff and afterwards in the National Armament Directorate as Assistant to the Chief of Armament Program Division.
In 2006 he joined the NCO Navy School and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from the University of Viterbo in 2009.
In 2011, after attending the necessary training course, he joined the Submarine Force.
Throughout his career he has served at sea on FFAHV GRECALE, SSK GAZZANA and SSK LONGOBARDO, as a Radio Operator and Crypto Custodian.
During assignments ashore, MCPO Mannavola has served as JOC Assistant in the EUNAVFORMED Operational HQ, as NATO Secret Registry Chief in the KFOR HQ, and as Division Assistant in the Submarines Logistical and Technical Support Department.
Throughout his career he has participated in numerous national and international exercises and operations, and has been awarded several decorations and commendations.
