Portuguese Naval Officers on the Promotion to Senior Officer Course visit
STRIKFORNATO welcomed the Portuguese Naval Officers currently on a Promotion to Senior Officer course today at our headquarters in Oeiras.
STRIKFORNATO'S Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Jason Bohm, had the pleasure to deliver the welcoming remarks, which were followed by a briefing presented by STRIKFORNATO's Portuguese Senior National Representative, Captain Fernando Conceição, on STRIKFORNATO's organization, mission, capabilities, and current projects.
The course, run by the Portuguese Military University Institute, is a requirement for promotion to the rank of Lieutenant-commander. STRIKFORNATO wishes all these young Lieutenants "fair winds and following seas" in their upcoming Senior Officer career.
The Portuguese Military University Institute is a public higher education institution for military studies. It provides training and education to the officers of the Armed Forces and the Guarda Nacional Republicana (National Republican Guard) throughout their careers, enabling them to perform command and staff duties within their own branches, combined joint forces and within national or international institutions/organizations.
