Brigadier General Andrés Gacio farewell ceremony

OEIRAS, PORTUGAL – After 49 years of dedicated service in the Spanish Navy and Marines, and nearly 3 years serving as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations at STRIKFORNATO, Brigadier General Andrés Gacio has reached the end of a long and distinguished career and well-deserved retirement.

STRIKFORNATO's Commander, Vice Adm. Gene Black, had the privilege of commending BGen Gacio for his superior performance while serving in a demanding Flag Officer appointment during a time of significant activity in the Maritime and Joint domains.

BGen Gacio's extensive and mature working relationships across the NATO Command Structure were invaluable to the Headquarters as it tackled evolving NATO challenges. His operational insight and expertise were also vital to STRIKFORNATO's certification as the first NATO Expanded Task Force.

STRIKFORNATO thanks BGen Gacio for his 49 years of service and sacrifice to his Nation and the NATO Alliance.

Fair winds and following seas!
