Portuguese Navy Captain Rui Ribeiro Parreira has now assumed duties as Deputy Chief of Staff for Support (DCOS SUPP) at STRIKFORNATO.

The DCOS SUPP keeps the Command Group informed about the activities and issues of importance to STRIKFORNATO staff in regards to support activities both for exercises and for real life support. The DCOS SUPP also serves as principle liaison officer with STRIKFORNATO's Senior Policy and Resources Committee (SPRC) and acts as Senior National Representative for Portugal.

Born in Montemor-o-Novo, Portugal, in 1965, CAPT Parreira joined the Portuguese Naval Academy in 1985 where he graduated in 1990 with a master degree in naval military sciences - naval engineering mechanics.

Before his current assignment, CAPT Parreira served in many different units in the Portuguese Navy both at sea and ashore.
