STRIKFORNATO welcomes new Deputy Commander

OEIRAS, PORTUGAL – STRIKFORNATO welcomed its new Deputy Commander (DCOM), Rear Admiral James Morley, who assumed responsibilities from Rear Admiral Guy Robinson OBE, during a ceremony held at the headquarters on Apr. 23, 2021.

STRIKFORNATO honoured RAdm. Robinson with a Sideboy Detail and Command Salute send off on his final day of duty at the headquarters.

RAdm. Morley is a Royal Navy Warfare Officer who has commanded three warships during his seagoing career, and has operated in the Atlantic, Mediterranean, the Middle East and Far East. In his most recent assignment, RAdm. Morley served as Director Capability in the UK's Strategic Command, responsible for joint enabling capabilities including Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR), Special Projects, Joint Medical capability and Support capability. He is a graduate of the UK's Advanced and Higher Command and Staff Courses, as well as the United States' Capstone Course.

RAdm. Robinson served at STRIKFORNATO from November 2017 to April 2021. During his tenure, he was the Exercise Director for Exercises BALTOPS 2018 and 2020, the premier annual maritime exercise in the Baltic Sea region, and one of the largest exercises in Northern Europe. During TRIDENT JUPITER 2019, he led STRIKFORNATO through a successful certification process to become NATO's first and only Expanded Task Force. RAdm. Robinson will assume responsibilities at NATO Joint Allied Command Norfolk as Chief of Staff in July 2021.
