STRIKFORNATO Hosts 2022s Maritime Aviation Workshop

Oeiras, Portugal - Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO (STRIKFORNATO) hosted the Maritime Aviation Workshop from July 12-13, 2022 at its headquarters as part of the development and execution of the Project NEPTUNE series.

The Maritime Aviation Workshop builds on top of the Carrier Aviation Operations Working Group hosted in September 2021 by Allied Maritime Command (MARCOM) in Northwood, United Kingdom.

The purpose is to connect aviation planners from MARCOM, Allied Air Command (AIRCOM) and STRIKFORNATO to collaborate and coordinate the ongoing integration of staff efforts. The goal is to enable the most effective delivery of effects from the air and across the peacetime-crisis-conflict continuum.

The Project NEPTUNE series, including the Maritime Aviation Workshop, provides numerous learning points and highlights the need for continued growth and cooperation between staff integration and interaction.

STRIKFORNATO, headquartered in Oeiras, Portugal, is Supreme Allied Commander Europe's (SACEUR) rapidly deployable and scalable headquarters capable of planning and executing full spectrum joint maritime operations, primarily through the integration of U.S. naval and amphibious forces, in order to provide assurance, deterrence, and collective defence for the Alliance.
