STRIKFORNATO's Deputy Commander, Rear Admiral James Morley and Chief of Staff, Rear Admiral Michael Wosje, opened the SPRC meeting with welcome remarks and a personal note of gratitude to all the MOU Nations for their continued support to STRIKFORNATO and the NATO Alliance.

The meeting included a detailed briefing about the structure, role, mission, capabilities, organization, manning, and financing of STRIKFORNATO. The discussions highlighted SFN’s collective and collaborative accomplishments in 2022 and the extensive 2023 planned programme of work.

STRIKFORNATO is a MOU organization of thirteen member nations, with the United States as the Lead Nation. The MOU is among Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom and the United States. Organized using a J-Code structure, each MOU Nation contributes staff personnel with the requisite expertise to support the planning and execution of STRIKFORNATO operations.

Military representatives of Lithuania and Romania were also in attendance at the SPRC as observers.

Headquartered in Oeiras, Portugal, STRIKFORNATO is SACEUR’s rapidly deployable and scalable headquarters capable of planning and executing full spectrum joint maritime operations, primarily through the integration of U.S. naval and amphibious forces, in order to provide assurance, deterrence, and collective defence for the Alliance.
