The meeting was organised to brief command updates, personnel requirements and financial procedures as well as discuss the structure, role, capabilities and mission of STRIKFORNATO. This includes discussing the past and future of STRIKFORNATO, focusing on the successes and what can be done to keep future exercises and planning efficiently running among the MOU Nations and within the NATO Alliance.
STRIKFORNATO’s Deputy Commander, Rear Admiral James Morley, and Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Marcus Annibale, kicked off the meeting with welcoming remarks and personal gratitude to the cohesion the MOU Nations continue to demonstrate to our command.
The MOU organization comprises of thirteen member nations, with the United States as the Lead Nation. The MOU is among Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Türkiye, United Kingdom and the United States.
STRIKFORNATO, headquartered in Oeiras, Portugal, is Supreme Allied Commander Europe's (SACEUR) rapidly deployable and scalable headquarters capable of planning and executing full spectrum joint maritime operations, primarily through the integration of U.S. naval and amphibious forces, in order to provide assurance, deterrence, and collective defence for the Alliance.
