U.S. Commander Carrier Strike Group FOUR visits STRIKFORNATO

Oeiras, Portugal – U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Richard Brophy, Commander Carrier Strike Group FOUR, visited Naval Striking and Support NATO (STRIKFORNATO) headquarters on April 22, 2022.

The visit allowed STRIKFORNATO Command Group to introduce the organisation and future vigilance activities and exercises within the HQ.

RAdm. Brophy was briefed on the experiences and lessons learned from NEPTUNE STRIKE 22, and the live integration of U.S. Carrier Strike Group operations into NATO within the European Theatre in support of Supreme Allied Commander Europe's (SACEUR) Deterrence and Defence of the Euro-Atlantic Strategy. Future integration opportunities were also discussed in order to continue supporting the NATO Alliance.

Commander, Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 4 trains and delivers combat-ready naval forces to U.S. Fleet Forces Command and U.S. 2nd Fleet, which are capable of conducting full-spectrum integrated maritime, joint and combined operations in support of U.S. national interests.

STRIKFORNATO, headquartered in Oeiras, Portugal, is Supreme Allied Commander Europe's (SACEUR) premier, rapidly deployable and flexible, maritime power projection Headquarters, capable of planning and executing full spectrum joint maritime operations.
