STRIKFORNATO WELCOMES A NEW DIRECTOR OF STAFF

Oeiras, Portugal - Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO (STRIKFORNATO) welcomed its new Director of Staff (DOS) Captain Ilias Kouplakis, who assumed responsibilities from Captain Anastasios Monastiriotis on July 27, 2023.

Captain Kouplakis is a member of the Hellenic Navy since his graduation in 1993, specialized in Naval Weapons Systems.

More recently, before joining the STRIKFORNATO team, he has worked in Intelligence domain for the Hellenic Navy, where he has also a specialization. He served as Staff Officer in Hellenic Navy General Staff (HNGS) as Intel Analyst, Head of Intel Office and deputy Director of Intelligence and Security Directorate. As well as a Staff officer in Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) in NJOC/HNDGS as Head of Naval and Intel Operations.

As the new DOS, Captain Kouplakis will now provide overall support and supervision to all the staff at STRIKFORNATO as well as support Chief of Staff (COS) in his daily assignments as needed.
