OEIRAS, Portugal – STRIKFORNATO says goodbye to its Director of Staff Captain Anastasios Monastiriotis after 2 years of service to the Alliance on Thursday 27 July.

Captain Anastasios Monastiriotis has been part of the Hellenic Navy since his graduation in 1992. Before joining STRIKFORNATO he was Head of the Training and Education Institutional and Legislation Framework Department in Hellenic Navy General Staff (HNGS).

At STRIKFORNATO, Captain Monastiriotis revamped many Information Management programmes and expanded our Internship Programme, including a major revision to the Staff Manual and, on his own initiative, developed a "Newcomer’s Guide" to assist new joining staff and families.

Moreover, he was a pivotal piece in Project NEPTUNE, as the primary coordinator between STRIKFORNATO Command and U.S. SIXTH Fleet. This project aimed to better integrate the two staffs, build cohesion, and provide resources across personnel, equipment, and readiness in order to "turbo-charge" the handover/takeover process during crises. He set the tone for all NEPTUNE Strikes that followed, the last one being the 7^th iteration.
