OEIRAS, Portugal – Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO (STRIKFORNATO) received the visit of NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller on 01 March. The Deputy Secretary General was accompanied by the Portuguese Secretary of State for Defence Ana Santos Pinto.

During the visit, the Chief of Staff Brigadier General Jason Bohm briefed the distinguished visitors about the mission, roles, and challenges for STRIKFORNATO. This was followed by a meeting with some staff members of the organisation.

During the discussion, Brigadier General Bohm highlighted the fact that STRIKFORNATO is preparing to become the first certified organisation in the Alliance capable of commanding a NATO Expanded Task Force. This command structure allows with STRIKFORNATO to command and control multiple strike groups, with naval and marine forces from across NATO nations.
