STRIKFORNATO hosted the representatives of its twelve Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Nations for the Senior Policy and Resource Committee (SPRC) meeting on 11 December 2019. STRIKFORNATO Deputy Commander Rear Admiral Guy Robinson began the SPRC meeting with welcoming remarks, which was followed by the 12 SFN MOU National representatives’ discussion of several agenda items and matters related to the participation of each member nation in STRIKFORNATO.
NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), Gen. Tod D. Wolters, met with Vice Adm. Lisa M. Franchetti, commander, Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO's (STRIKFORNATO) and staff at their headquarters, in Lisbon, Portugal, Dec. 5.
The Political Director at the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Ambassador Pedro Costa Pereira visited STRIKFORNATO HQ on Monday, 02 December 2019.
The Allied Command Operations Command Senior Enlisted Leader (ACO CSEL), Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Siim Saliste, visited STRIKFORNATO on 25 and 26 November. CSM Siim Saliste is the sixth Command Senior Enlisted Leader (CSEL) for Allied Command Operations (ACO) at NATO's Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE). He also serves as the Supreme Allied Commander Europe's principle advisor on matters affecting non-commissioned members (NCM) in the Alliance.
The recognition of superior performance is a tradition of the Armed Forces. Exercise TRIDENT JUPEITER 2019 provided personnel assigned to STRIKFORNATO, who performed above and beyond their peers the opportunity to be recognized with a STRIKFORNATO Letter of Appreciation or a Certificate of Commendation.
VADM Franchetti and the staff of STRIKFORNATO embarked Mount Whitney to certify as a NATO Expanded Task Force Commander during exercise TRIDENT JUPITER. The exercise will serve to train and evaluate the staff’s ability to command and control high-end joint warfare operations.
UK’s Chief of the Defence Staff, General Sir Nick Carter GCB CBE DSO ADC Gen paid a visit to STRIKFORNATO’s headquarters. General Carter was welcomed by Rear Admiral Guy Robinson, STRIKFORNATO Deputy Commander and Brigadier General Jason Bohm, STRIKFORNATO Chief of Staff.
Rear Admiral James Kirk USN, the Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the NATO Joint Warfare Centre, visited STRIKFORNATO in order to better understand the Headquarters’ mission, roles and challenges.
Oeiras, Portugal – On the 26th August 2019, the Commanding General of the II Marine Expeditionary Force (II MEF), LtGen Brian Beaudreault, U.S. Marine Corps (USMC), visited STRIKFORNATO in what proved to be a fruitful opportunity to exchange information on our organizations and to explore opportunities to develop a stronger mutually beneficial relationship between the two commands.
On 11 July 2019, a delegation
from Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO (STRIKFORNATO) visited the European
Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA). Both STRIKFORNATO and EMSA recognize it is
critical to their mission to have real time and reliable information about
activities at sea.
Vice Admiral Lisa M. Franchetti and her STRIKFORNATO staff hosted senior leaders from many NATO countries for a two-day Distinguished Visitor (DV) event in Lisbon, Portugal, marking the formal end to Exercise Formidable Shield 2019 (FS19), on 28 and 29 May 2019.
Exercise Formidable Shield 19 is scheduled to take place from 7 to 19 May 2019, in the vicinity of the Western Isles of Scotland.
On 20 March 2019, General André Lanata, Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, paid a visit to STRIKFORNATO.
STRIKFORNATO celebrated its 66th anniversary in its headquarters in Oeiras, Portugal, on 15 March 2019.
