UK Chief of the Defence Staff visits STRIKFORNATO

OEIRAS, Portugal - On 17 October 2019, the UK’s Chief of the Defence Staff, General Sir Nick Carter GCB CBE DSO ADC Gen paid a visit to STRIKFORNATO’s headquarters. General Carter was welcomed by Rear Admiral Guy Robinson, STRIKFORNATO Deputy Commander and Brigadier General Jason Bohm, STRIKFORNATO Chief of Staff.

The purpose of the visit, as part of a wider visit hosted by the Portuguese Ministry of Defence, was to understand the roles, capabilities, and mission of STRIKFORNATO.

During his visit, General Carter also had the opportunity to meet UK personnel assigned to STRIKFORNATO.

The Chief of the Defence Staff is the professional head of the UK Armed Forces and principal military adviser to the UK Secretary of State for Defence and the government. The role reports to the Secretary of State and the Prime Minister.
